The San Diego Mountain Biking Association is a volunteer-driven nonprofit and one of the largest regional trail advocacy organizations in the United States. With over 1,700 members, we work to protect trail access, build sustainable trails, and bring riders together across San Diego County.
Born and raised in San Diego, Peter has spent his career in the cycling world — from bike mechanic at REI to spearheading their partnership with SDMBA. He believes recreation and conservation elevate each other.

Retired from a 35-year fire service career. SDMBA liaison to Daley Ranch since 2019, based in Carlsbad.
Mechanical engineer with business management background. Board member since 2020, rides mostly North County trails.
Background in federal law enforcement and IT, now a small business owner in Carlsbad Village. Completed his first Full Archipelago Ride.
Works in biotech and healthcare communications. Board member since 2017, focused on all-mountain and night riding.
Former professional road cyclist and national team member. PhD from UCSD, head of trails committee since 2017.

We honor the 18 federally recognized tribal nations with reservations in San Diego County and commit to respectful stewardship of these lands.
